Countertop Contractor in Oakville — One Contract, Not Two Trades

We are the contractor, not the stone shop. We specify the slab, put it to fabricators we have worked with for years, and hold one contract so you are not scheduling two trades against each other.

What countertop work actually covers

Countertops are three separate jobs that most people think of as one. The slab is templated to your layout, fabricated to fit and installed — that is the countertop. The backsplash behind it is vertical wall work using tile-setting methods, scoped and billed on its own even when the material matches the slab. And the cabinet box under an island, its outlets and any plumbing, is kitchen remodeling rather than countertop work.

Knowing which of those you are actually buying is the difference between a quote you can compare and one you cannot. We will tell you which parts of a job are ours and which are not, and point you at the right scope for the rest.

Quartz is what most Oakville kitchens end up with. It resists stains, it needs no sealing, and it holds up over years of spills and knife slips — which is why it has replaced most of the laminate and older granite we are called out to look at.

Kitchen countertops services in Oakville

Quartz Countertop Installation Brings Lasting Value to Oakville Kitchens

Quartz countertop installation is the slab work itself — the surface you'll lean on every morning while the coffee brews. Three steps make it up: templating your existing layout, fabricating the stone to fit, and installing the finished countertop. We contract that to stone shops we have used for years and carry the schedule ourselves. Quartz resists stains and it doesn't need sealing, and it holds up over years of daily use, spills, knife slips, the works. That is why new quartz over laminate or older granite has become the go-to swap for Oakville homeowners.

In North Oakville's newer communities, a lot of homeowners plan this upgrade right after taking possession. The laminate that comes standard with the home was never built to last. Swap it for quartz and the whole kitchen feels different immediately.

A few things to know before you start:

  • Templating happens on-site so the slab fits your exact cabinet layout
  • Waterfall edges and wide overhangs need extra structural support — this gets checked during planning, not assumed
  • Quartz countertop installation covers the slab only — backsplash is a separate service, even when you want matching stone on the wall

Of the three steps, templating is where most of the precision happens. A good template means fewer surprises on install day, which is why it waits until the cabinets are finished and the openings have stopped moving.

Backsplash Installation Completes the Look of a New Countertop

People assume backsplash installation comes bundled with a new countertop. It doesn't. Backsplash installation is its own service — vertical wall work using tile-style setting methods, even when the material matches your countertop slab. It gets scoped and billed separately because the trade work isn't the same as horizontal slab fabrication. Maybe you're adding one alongside new quartz counters, or maybe you want the wall done without touching the counter at all. Both are calls we get regularly.

Here's where Oakville's housing stock matters:

  • Character homes in Old Oakville and Bronte often have walls that are not perfectly flat, where past renovations left uneven surfaces that throw off how tightly a backsplash sits — that means extra prep to get clean seam lines
  • Newer homes tend to have more predictable walls, so things move faster there

No matter the home, backsplash installation is the step that ties your countertop into the rest of the kitchen. It's the detail people notice first.

Like the slab, the tiling goes to a trade we contract. Tile setting is its own craft, and we would rather book somebody who does it every day than have a cabinetmaker have a go at it. What we do is scope it, price it with everything else, and hold one schedule so the wall and the counter are not two separate projects you are chasing.

Kitchen Island Upgrades Add Seating, Storage, and Style

What if your counters are fine but the island feels too small, too plain, or just not pulling its weight? Kitchen island upgrades treat the island as its own project, not just a slab swap. The countertop is one piece of a bigger change.

From our side, here's what we handle:

  • Slab selection for the island top, including material that matches or contrasts with your perimeter counters
  • Waterfall edge design, where the stone wraps down the side of the island
  • Overhang support for seating areas so the stone stays solid over time
  • Cutout planning for prep sinks or other built-in features

The cabinet box underneath, the electrical for outlets, any plumbing rough-in — that falls under kitchen remodeling work, not this service. If your island needs new cabinetry or wiring, that's a separate conversation and we can point you to the right scope. Here's the thing people don't always realise: a waterfall edge or an overhang for seating cannot just sit on a slab without support underneath. The fabricator specifies what an overhang needs and we build it, which is carpentry rather than stonework, so it is planned early and the stone arrives to something ready for it.

Photographs of the island and the run around it are enough to price the stone. The written quote comes back inside 24 hours and does not change afterwards, so you can compare it against the stone shops directly before deciding anything.

All of it

Every kitchen countertop service we offer in Oakville

Where we work

Where we work

We scope the work in your kitchen, so it is close to home — Bronte, Old Oakville, River Oaks, College Park and West Oak Trails. Most of what we are called out to look at is a counter that has worn out while the cabinets underneath it are still perfectly sound.

Burlington, Milton and Hamilton are all within our service area. Stone is cut to the measurements taken in the room either way, so nothing about the process changes with the postcode.

The stone is scheduled around the cabinets

Counters are almost never replaced on their own. They come up because the cabinets are being done and the old surface would let the new doors down, or because the counter failed and the cabinets underneath turned out to be worth keeping. Either way the order is fixed — stone is templated from finished cabinetry, never before it. Seeing how the stone fits around the cabinet work laid out with the cabinet work it depends on is what the page above this one does.

Why us

Why Oakville homeowners choose us for countertops

We are the contractor, not the stone shop
The slab is specified here, priced into the job and scheduled here, and the cutting and fitting go to fabricators we have worked with for years. You hold one contract instead of coordinating two trades who each need the other to finish first.
The template comes off the cabinets that are standing
Stone is measured from the fitted kitchen rather than from drawings or the counter being replaced. That is what puts the overhang and the sink cutout where they should be, and a slab cut to the wrong line is not adjustable.
Different trades, different warranties, said up front
Our five years covers the work we carry out. The stone carries one year from the fabricator who cut it, and tiling carries the tiler's. One contract is not one warranty, and that is worth knowing before rather than after.
Tile goes to a tiler
Setting tile is its own craft and this company holds two trades already. The backsplash is scoped and priced into the same quote, and the schedule is held here, but the person laying it does that for a living.

Questions

Common questions about kitchen countertops in Oakville

Can I come in and look at slabs?
Not with us — we have no showroom, and the address on our profile is an office rather than somewhere to visit. That is no loss on stone in particular, because the slabs live at the fabricators we work with and they hold far more than we ever could. Tell us the look you are after and we will say which of them suits it and arrange the viewing.
What happens during a countertop consultation visit?
By the time anyone visits you already have the written quote, because that comes from photographs inside 24 hours and does not change. The visit is for the decisions that need the room — whether you need quartz countertop installation, backsplash installation, kitchen island upgrades or a mix of the three, how the edges and overhangs should run, and what the walls behind the counter are going to need.
Do I need quartz countertop installation or backsplash installation?
It depends on what's worn out. If your counter surface is stained, chipped, or dated, that's quartz countertop installation. If the counter is fine but the wall behind it looks tired or unfinished, that's backsplash installation. Many Oakville homeowners book both together, but they're scoped and priced as separate services.
Is the countertop covered by your warranty?
Not by ours. Our five-year warranty covers work we carry out ourselves — the cabinetry and the finish. Stone comes with a one-year warranty from the fabricator who cuts and fits it. We would rather say that plainly than let you assume one contract means one warranty, because it does not.
My Old Oakville home has uneven walls. Does that affect a new backsplash?
Yes, it can. Character homes in Old Oakville and Bronte often have walls that shifted a bit through past renovations, so tile-style backsplash work needs extra prep for clean, tight seam lines. We check wall condition during the consultation so there are no surprises once installation starts.
Is a kitchen island upgrade the same as a full kitchen remodel?
No, they're different projects. A kitchen island upgrade covers the countertop, waterfall edges, overhang support, and cutouts for sinks or prep areas. Cabinet boxes, new electrical, or plumbing rough-in fall under kitchen remodeling instead. If your island needs those changes too, we'll point you to the right scope.
My North Oakville home still has builder-grade laminate. Should I replace it right away?
Only when it starts bothering you — laminate is a finish, not a fault, and there is nothing unsafe about living with it. It is the most common thing we are asked to replace, because it wears visibly while everything under it is still fine. Quartz is the usual swap, since it resists stains and needs no sealing.

Ready to get your kitchen templated?

Send photographs of the run you want replaced and the written quote follows inside 24 hours, unrevised afterwards. Templating comes later and happens in the room, once the cabinets are done and the openings have stopped moving.
