The terms behind a quote and a contract, in the same plain language as everything else here. Nothing in this page is a surprise — it states what the rest of the site already describes.
Who this covers
Kitchen Made New, a kitchen refacing, painting and refinishing business operating across the Greater Toronto Area from a shop at 1090 Barmac Drive, North York, Ontario M9L 2X3.
These terms apply to kitchenmadenew.com, including the Oakville and North York sections of it, and to any quote, contract or project that follows from contacting us through it.

Quotes and pricing
Most quotes are produced from photographs, not a visit — send wide photographs of every run of cabinet and a written price follows inside 24 to 48 hours, itemised by door, drawer and day rate rather than given as a single figure.
The written quote is the price. It is not a starting number that moves after a visit, and we do not revise it once it is sent unless the scope itself changes — a wall coming out, a layout changing, cabinetry added that was not in the photographs. Where an in-person consultation happens, it is to work out design details you have already decided to proceed with, not to re-price the job — no charge and no deposit is taken at that visit.
A quote is an offer, not a contract. It becomes binding once you accept it in writing and the deposit below is paid.
The contract and deposit
Work begins once you accept a quote in writing and pay a 10% deposit. The deposit secures your place in the schedule and confirms the project; it does not buy materials on its own, which is why it is small relative to the total.
The deposit is non-refundable once paid. If you cancel after signing, the deposit is not returned. This is standard for made-to-measure work: manufacturing begins on your kitchen's exact dimensions shortly after the deposit clears, and the doors made for your kitchen are made for no one else's.
Payment schedule
The rest of the project price is paid in two further stages, not upfront:
- 40% when your existing doors and drawers come off and work physically starts in your home.
- 50%, the final and largest share, after a walkthrough you are satisfied with — not before.
We collect only half the total project cost before the work is finished. The majority is paid only once you have seen it and approved it.
The warranty
Workmanship and finish carry a 5-year warranty. Cabinet doors made from waterproof MDF — our standard refacing material — carry an extended 15-year warranty against the finish failing.
Countertops are the one exception. Stone is fabricated and installed by a separate contractor we bring in, not by us, and it carries that fabricator's own one-year warranty rather than ours. This is stated here, on the countertop page, and in the homepage FAQ, because "one point of contact" can otherwise read as "one warranty," and on stone specifically that would be wrong.
A warranty claim is honoured for defects in the material or the work — it does not cover damage from misuse, a leak or flood, or work someone other than us carried out afterward.
Using this website
The text, photographs and design on this site belong to Kitchen Made New unless a caption says otherwise, and are here so you can decide whether to contact us — not for reuse elsewhere without asking first.
We aim to keep prices, service areas and other details on this site accurate and current, but the written quote you receive for your own project is what governs, not a figure or example used elsewhere on the site for illustration.
Liability
We carry insurance appropriate to the work we do, and we are responsible for our own workmanship under the warranty above. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions in your home that our work did not cause — structural issues, wiring, plumbing or pest damage behind cabinetry, for example — though we will tell you if we find something before continuing.
To the extent the law allows, our liability for a project is limited to the value of the contract for that project.
Governing law, and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page. A signed contract is governed by the terms in place when you signed it, not by a later revision of this page.
