   Dark espresso, wall to wall, in a room with this much daylight coming into it. Nothing here was failing — the boxes, the granite and the floor all stayed — and the doors came off, went to the booth and came back the same doors in a different colour.

   The master vanity went through the booth in the same run. It is two floors and several doors away from the kitchen, so nobody will ever compare them directly — which is exactly why it was sprayed from the same batch rather than matched later by eye.

   One tone over everything, which is the harder choice in a kitchen this size. A second colour hides a multitude — it breaks the room up and gives the eye somewhere else to go. One colour has nowhere to hide a bad edge.
