The quote comes from the owner rather than from a salesperson on commission, which is most of why nobody here has an incentive to talk you into a tear-out. You get a reply to what you actually sent.

If photographs came with your message, the next thing back is a written price — door and drawer count plus days on site, itemised, and fixed once you have it. If they did not, we will ask, because a number produced from a description of a kitchen is a guess and guesses are what move later.

The first question is never what you want done, it is what you have got. A sixties bungalow with solid frames under forty years of amber lacquer and a nineties kitchen in lifting thermofoil want opposite things, and the wrong service on either one is money burnt. That gets sorted from the photographs before anything is quoted.
