Project 66Cabinet painting · Cabinet refacing
Northeast Ajax, Ajax
espresso refinished white, island extended with a new cabinet and post
The island is longer than it was. It is still the same island.
- Refinished white, doors in the shop and frames in the home
- One cabinet added to the existing island, on a new post
- Thirty-one new knobs and handles

01
The new box, stood against the end of the island it is extending, on a day when everything around it was still espresso. An extension is joinery before it is decoration — it has to land level with a run somebody else built, years earlier, to no drawing you have.

02
The end panel clamped while it sets. Tape and clamps and a wait — the least photogenic part of any job and the one that decides whether the seam shows. The estimate priced this before the design was settled, and said so in as many words.

03
One quartz top, one continuous run, and a post carrying the far end where there was nothing to carry it before. The old island is still in there — the near half of what you are looking at is the cabinetry that was always here, sprayed to match the half that is new.
