Before
After — espresso sprayed Natural Cream, island cabinets built, new counters in Patterson, Vaughan
After

New counters, new backsplash, new island cabinets. The kitchen was never taken out.

  • Sprayed Natural Cream at half tint
  • New cabinets built into the island
  • New quartz and slab backsplash, handles kept
  1. A hand-drawn sketch of the new island cabinet with its width, depth and height dimensions written on it, photographed on the kitchen floor

    01

The island cabinet, drawn on site with a tape measure in the other hand. Thirty-one and a half by twenty-four and a half, thirty-five and a half tall, sitting on a floor noted as thirty inches. Nothing about a fitted island is standard — it gets measured where it goes.

  2. The original espresso doors stacked in the garage after removal, wrapped and stood on end ready to go to the shop

    02

Every door in the house, stacked in the garage waiting for the van. They spend about ten days in the booth while the kitchen keeps working — you lose the doors, not the kitchen, which is the whole reason this is not a renovation.

  3. The finished kitchen with cream cabinetry, new white quartz counters and a full-height slab backsplash behind the range

    03

The counters and the backsplash are new, the island has cabinets it did not have, and the colour is a stock cream mixed at half strength so it reads warm without reading yellow. The boxes, the layout and the floor are the ones that were here.
