Project 48Cabinet painting
Aurora Highlands, Aurora
cream and brown repainted Oxford White and Onyx
Nothing in this kitchen was worn out. The colour had just aged.
- Oxford White above, Onyx on the island
- New pulls throughout
- Mudroom sprayed to match

01
Look at what is wrong here, because it is not much. The layout works, the boxes are sound, the granite is worth keeping. What dates the room is a warm cream gone yellow and a brown island — two colours, doing all of the ageing.

02
The mudroom went through the booth with the kitchen. It is the room the family actually comes in through, and leaving it in the old colour is how a repainted kitchen ends up looking like a repainted kitchen rather than a house that was decorated.

03
Same doors, same hinges, same stone, same floor. The only things that left this house were the doors, for ten days, and the old handles. Everything here is what was already here, in two different colours.
